I am back… I hope

It’s been a while since my last blog post. I’m usually too busy during the week for blogging, but I can never let go of Instagram where a post is only one picture and a couple of filters away. Follow me for daily food and style adventures @crackberrycream You will also get a peek behind-the-scenes at Boulesse every now and then. Other than that I’ll try to blog more often…...

Swarovski Cuff

It’s time again for a bit of fashion. As a former metalhead I’m a fan of studs. But I also love myself some bling… Of course I had to get this Swarovski cuff when I saw it. I think it was available one year ago… but Swarovski constantly has nice jewelry. This piece has lots of small colorless crystals, some champagne and black colored ones as well as one olive green center crystal. I love the way the studs and stones are...

Ladurée Scented Candles

Ladurée Scented Candles

I’m a huge fan of scents, what else as a foodie? So of course I love scented candles, especially when they smell as delicious as the ones by Ladurée. Some months ago I got myself the original size of Praline (on the right), which smells like a soft version of nougat, mixed with a slight caramel waft. Not too sweet or cloying, just a warm praline scent making your room smell delish and satisfying a sweet craving without actually having to eat chocolates. Then I couldn’t resist and also got a set of two small candles, Caprice and Delice from BOULESSE.COM. Caprice is a sweet powdered rose, just as I love it. Delice captures the soft sweet- and tenderness of marshmallows. What I love about these candles is how long the smells last. They are strong enough to fill a huge room, even an apartment, but never cloying. A little (burn) goes a long way (in terms of smell), so you will definitely enjoy them for a long time. There are a lot more scents to choose from, e.g. “Chocolate Orange“, which is next on my list, Brioche, Ispahan (Rose with lychee and raspberry!), but also a soft powdery “Poudre de Riz” (Rice powder). You can get more of them online at BOULESSE.COM. And just so you know: This isn’t a sponsored post, I work for Boulesse ;-) And since I enjoy the finer things in life you can be sure to see some more products from Boulesse on here soon. I will also show you Boulesse a bit more in detail in one of the next posts. Let me know what you think of the candles! Best,...

Spontaneous buy at Zara

Spontaneous buy at Zara

When I went to Zara on Saturday I planned to buy another Cashmere pullover in grey. But alas, there was no more Small in all of Vienna and online… and the Small size is pretty loose cut already. Anyway, something else caught my eye in between and I had to take it with me although at first I thought it was something else… This thing looked like a necklace first, until I realized its chain was far too short for a normal sized neck. When I took a closer look at the packaging it indicated a ring-bracelet… I love the design, it’s so pretty! And I’m sure I can use it as a necklace too, as soon as I find a chain with the right lenght to attach to it. I love the costume jewelry by Zara lately. And yes, I added some artificial sparkle to increase the bling...

Smythson Mara Card Case

Some weeks ago I was desperately looking for a business card holder. The odd thing was that I didn’t even have my own business cards yet. I was in the official start phase of a start up without cell phones and landline as the registration of new companies take ages in Austria. But I kept receiving cards from other people that I didn’t know where to put apart from my overflowing wallet. No, I don’t have too much money, but rather too many cards and bills for the tiny men’s wallet that I use nowadays. While I do have a purple card holder by Prada it is so tiny that most biz cards fit in very snug, and the ones of my previous employer didn’t fit at all… So my first thought went to Louis Vuitton, as usual. They have the most durable accessories, which are perfect for a klutz like me. But I didn’t like the designs offered. Next up was Gucci, but oh so many monograms… then finally Cartier. But that option felt too expensive for what it was. Then a friend showed me his Aspinal Mock Croc case, which looked really nice. However, I discovered one that fitted my taste even better. A Mock Croc case done by Smythson in a rich midnight blue with gold lettering. Click here to see the Mara card case on Smythson’s website. As I had it personalized with my initials and sent over from the UK it was a tiny bit more expensive than LV or Gucci. I think I paid 15€ or Pounds just in shipping, and another 20€ our Pounds for personalization. But is looks so much better than the mainstream brands. And gold letters on midnight blue look super nice. Now the only thing missing are my business cards. But they are coming in soon… in the meantime I have my blog’s cards ready. How do you like them? I know the logo is different, but the one in the header just didn’t look good with any food pic… And if you have started to look for Christmas gifts, look no further. Smythson has wonderful accessories, from wallets, to card cases, to their famous diaries to bags… all done in superb English quality. I couldn’t be happier with my card case. What are you using for your business...

Burberry Cashmere Scarves

Burberry Cashmere Scarves

Now that the weather is getting colder we need to find some good-looking ways to protect ourselves from colds. My first choice is a scarf, ideally made from soft Cashmere in a loud color. But after years of wearing only mono colored scarves I wanted something more playful. So Burberry comes into the game. You will know Burberry for the classic beige checkered Cashmere scarves. But they do many other colors as well, in a great way actually. My first buy was this bright blue scarf made from a light Cashmere fabric. An adorable sales assistant at Burberry ordered it for me online into the store. This way you don’t have to pay any shipping costs (which are around 15€ I was told) and it arrived lightning fast… I love the other color accents in purple and black. Those are exactly my colors. But I almost didn’t buy this one as it looked at tick more turquoise online and when it arrived it had not turquoise at all. Glad I kept it as I would have missed it right away after returning. However, I still wanted to have a scarf in the thick, brushed Cashmere fabric, so I organized a spontaneous ride to the designer outlet in Parndorf and basically found the one color combination I was eyeing for many months online (shown on the left in the pic below). It was the last one of course and well hidden… I only got it because I called the store in advance to inquire about anything containing turquoise. Talk about determination. Here we have Burgundy, purple, blue and turquoise. I love it. And if this wasn’t good enough the scarf had a 40% discount. So I found the last brushed Cashmere scarf in my desired color harmony for 40% off at the nearest Burberry outlet. Lucky day, lucky scarf. Seriously! And yes, the picture above is overexposed. The real colors are a bit darker. Compare the first scarf on the first picture (very true to life) and on the right in the second picture… And guess what, I didn’t catch a cold yet despite everyone around me bombarding me with gazillions of bazillions in the last few weeks. Okay, it’s not really because of a scarf, or even Burberry, but my habit of popping vitamin pills once I suspect the slightest cold going around. But that is another...
