I got the blues…

I got the blues…

… namely four stunning shades of blue, produced by my favorite brand Hermès. When it comes to colors I’m a bit peculiar. There are shades I obsess and shades I couldn’t care less about. All within the same color family. Blue is my favorite color, but not any kind of blue. I don’t like it greyish or too subdued. The louder the better. At the top you see a Kelly Double Tour Bracelet in my newest obsession, Bleu Izmir done in smooth Tadelakt leather. It is a very vibrant greenish blue, albeit a little on the dark side. My dream Birkin would be in this exact color, with gold hardware. In the middle on the left is a Vision Agenda in Bleu Aztec, Chevre leather. My obsession before Bleu Izmir. Think bright Skype blue. Yes, SKYPE, not sky. On the middle right is Bleu Paon in a different kind of Chevre. A beautiful shade of turquoise as it leans more towards green. And the huge Ulysse GM notebook at the bottom is Bleu de Galice. In reality it is more muted than Bleu Izmir, but they look almost the same in the pictures. So yes, I admit I probably got a bit of a problem with blue products. My wallet prays Hermès won’t do anything in blue again, but my heart knows that this will never happen. Hermès Collier de Chien

When I’m not occupied with food I’m all over designer bags. Or accessories. I never really felt the urge to wear anything on my wrists other than a watch, but when I saw the Hermès Collier de Chien years ago I knew I had to have it, in black leather with gold hardware that is. The golden studs make the punk rock look a bit absurd, which I love. It’s kind of rebellious, but the black Amex kind of rebellious… No, you don’t really need a black Amex in order to buy one, but it would come in handy. I had to rush to three Hermès boutiques in Paris to finally find the one at George V. Vienna only had one in orange or croc and I couldn’t care less about both. What I wanted was plain black leather and gold hardware. My hopes weren’t high when I arrived there and the SA first showed me an alligator with Palladium hardware… When I politely declined and asked for one in my desired specs she told me to please wait a moment and talked to an older SA. She nodded and my SA proceeded to take the box out of a drawer while in my head I was thinking “it’s probably the wrong color or hardware, as usual”. But I was so wrong, because the Collier de Chien that came out was in black Veau Chamonix leather with gold hardware… And eversince summer 2011 I’m a proud owner of my dream Collier de Chien. My absolute favorite wrist candy. And I don’t care that some friends said it looks like one of the jewelry pieces you get from chewing gum machines...
