Food in Business Class

If you have ever wondered what the food in the business class of airlines is like, look no further. I have gathered a couple of impressions here. My previous job sent me on bord of many many shorthaul flights to Germany, mainly in biz class. The following is a typical breakfast on Austrian Airlines. A cheese and ham toast, bread with butter, jam, cottage cheese and ham, fruits with yogurt. It was quite good, if I hadn’t been suffering from lack of sleep. Then one of the nicer dinners on Austrian’s short haul flights: shrimp with zucchini and rice, a chicken salad and chocolate cake. I only wished the portions weren’t so tiny, but then again it was only a 1,5h flight… Compare the lunch on Lufthansa… good grief. Yes, that is business class! Eco gets some chocolate bar… And finally one of the few longhaul biz class flights that I was upgraded to. Here you see seared tuna, which wasn’t bad. I should have taken more pictures, especially when flying biz with Swiss, but I was too lazy to whip out the mobile phone… Austrian Airlines offers decent food in biz class, but it’s no surprise as the catering is done by Do & Co. Lufthansa though offers less nice things, as my former colleagues from Germany were constantly complaining about fish cubes and the few occasions I flew with Lufthansa didn’t leave me impressed either.
